The Tolucan Times

Toluca Lake-based actress Katharine “Kat” Kramer (Little Fockers) is currently starring as an egotistical, over-the-top, high maintenance soap opera diva named Frances Rye in Season Four of the web series, Child of the ‘70s, an homage to sitcoms and child stars of the 1970s. The series is created, co-written, produced and stars actor Michael Vaccaro, who portrays the central protagonist,
Carlo Perdente, a wannabe actor who is trying to break into the entertainment business.

In Season Four of Child of the ‘70s, Kramer’s character Rye is under duress and on the verge of a mental meltdown upon learning that her daughter is dating her former assistant. In an effort to keep an eye on her sexually adventurous daughter, Rye goes undercover disguising herself first as Rabbi Herbert Schweitzergold, and then later in another episode she appears as an Asian woman, Miko “Ming Ling” Makada. Vaccaro said, “Kat Kramer plays a fantastic character, as the ultimate soap opera diva.”

Child of the ‘70s is currently airing on the subscription cable network, OutTV.com in six different countries, including The Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, Canada, the Baltic Sea and Belgium. The series can also be seen on TheOfficialChildofthe70s.com, as well as on YouTube.com, FunnyorDie.com and GayDirect.com.

In addition to Kramer and Vaccaro, the web series also stars Susan Olsen (The Brady Bunch), Bruce Vilanch (writer, comedian), Ted Lange (The Love Boat), Randy Jones (The Village People’s original cowboy), Judy Tenuta (comedienne), Sheena Metal (LATalkRadio.com host), Amy Linker (Square Pegs), Gina Hecht (Mork & Mindy, Seinfeld), Ann Walker (Sordid Lives), Terry Ray (From Here on OUT), Carol Ita White (Laverne & Shirley), Chuck Saculla (Please Don’t Eat the Pansies), as well as Jeremiah Caleb, Charlene Geisler, Lorinda Lisitza, Leo Forte and Dr. Ralph Mayer, who also serves as Executive Producer of Child of the ‘70s.

In June, Kramer will begin principal photography for a new web series called Black Sands, created, produced and co-written by Long Beach-based Bridge Falls Entertainment partners Steven Roche and Paul Belsito. Kramer will appear in the recurring role of a country singer, Misty Rivers, to be set and filmed in Palm Springs.

The six episode dramedy web series will be set in a resort, and besides Kramer will star Debra Wilson (Mad TV), Jamie Brewer (American Horror Story); Erika Ervin (American Horror Story); Jason Stuart (comedian, actor, Birth of a Nation), James “Gypsy” Haake (To Be or Not To Be, Troup Beverly Hills); Aidan Park (comedian, creator of the web series My Life on the F-List); Robin Riker (Brothers) and David Bloch-Mandel (Bewitched).
